A Year In Review

We are happy to report that our UW - Platteville / Baraboo Sauk County campus is thriving, with eagerly engaged students and dedicated faculty and staff. Our vibrant campus life continues to flourish, and we are excited about the future.

Spotlight on Student Life

Our student clubs continue to be alive with activity this year. For example, the Environmental Club has partnered with local organizations to help maintain the Ice Age Trail on campus. Additionally, our Film Club, Gaming Clubs, and intramural activities provide engaging opportunities for students, whether living on campus or commuting, to experience the rich social life and community spirit of our college.

Choral and Band Connections

The Community Choir and Community Band programs remain pivotal in connecting our campus with the broader community. These musical groups not only enrich our students' educational experience but also offer a platform for local residents to join in and share their talents, creating a strong bond between UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County and the local region.

Moving Forward

As we look to the future, we are excited about several key developments:

  • Growth of the Business Bachelor’s Program: Our 4-year Bachelor’s program of Business Administration in Management continues to thrive with a steady influx of students. This program is a milestone that represents a significant step in enhancing our academic offerings.

  • New Partnerships: Since our founding in 1967, our campus has thrived through a unique partnership with the city of Baraboo and Sauk County. This collaboration has allowed us to serve as the “Campus on the Hill,” providing access to quality education for over 55 years. Currently, we are working on new agreements that will further strengthen our ties with these local partners, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community and students into the future.

  • Pre-Engineering Program Enhancement: Campus leaders have met with dozens of local engineering firms to discuss strategies for strengthening our pre-engineering program. This initiative positions Baraboo as a regional hub for engineering education, attracting students and encouraging them to work locally and contribute to the growth of our community.
