At a pivotal moment in the history of the Baraboo Sauk County Campus, Friends of the Campus foundation will host a celebration honoring the campus’s enduring impact.

For 58 years, the Baraboo Sauk County Campus has been a cornerstone of education, opportunity, and connection in South Central Wisconsin. This month, the University of Wisconsin concluded course offerings and a redevelopment planning process is underway. Friends of the Campus would like to recognize the generations of students, educators, staff, and community members whose lives have been shaped by Boo U.

The celebration will offer an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, share memories, and reflect on the role the campus has played in the region for nearly six decades.

Stephen Swallen, Associate Professor and former Campus Director shared, “Boo U has meant so much to so many people. Over the course of nearly 6 decades, more than 10,000 students have been able find themselves, make friends, and begin new or reinvigorated careers. I'm really looking forward to sharing our beloved campus with everyone who's been a part of such a great place.”

The free community event will take place:

Sunday, June 7, 2026

1:00 – 4:00 PM

Lange Center | Baraboo Sauk County Campus, 1006 Connie Road, Baraboo, WI

Alumni, former and current faculty and staff, students, and community supporters are welcome.

Friends of the Campus President Jen Stewart said, “As UW ends their partnership with Baraboo and Sauk County, there are new possibilities for the campus’s future. Let’s celebrate our beloved Campus!”

The event is free and open to the public as a gesture of appreciation to the many individuals and organizations who have supported the campus throughout its history.
