The Impact of Scholarships

Receiving scholarships has been instrumental in making college a reality for Zoe. Thanks to the Baraboost scholarship, she was able to choose UW Platteville / Baraboo - Sauk County without worrying about tuition costs. This financial support meant she didn’t have to work full time, allowing her to focus on her studies with a part-time job instead. It gave her the opportunity to truly immerse herself in academic work and gain the most from her college experience.

Dreams for the Future: Forensic Science

Zoe's ultimate goal is to work in a forensic science lab. She's always been intrigued by how science can make a real-world impact, and forensic science is a field where she can help bring closure to families while contributing to a greater understanding of our world. Her plan is to major in Biology and minor in Forensic Science when she continues to the Platteville Campus. She's found the combination of biology’s practical application and the investigative nature of forensics incredibly fascinating. The work she does in this field would not only be intellectually satisfying but would also have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Finding A College Path

Growing up, Zoe always knew she wanted to attend college, but she never thought it was a certainty as the youngest of 5 children. As she explored different schools, she looked closely at their forensic science programs, and University of Wisconsin-Platteville stood out as one of the top schools. What really sold Zoe was the ability to stay closer to home, save money, and benefit from smaller class sizes. The more personalized attention and strong community atmosphere were a perfect fit for her learning style.

Favorite College Experiences

Beyond academics, Zoe has had some memorable experiences at Boo-U. she loves participating in activities such as Spirit Games and the Codger/Brat Games. Additionally, the Green Stem Club took us on a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum in Chicago, which was a fantastic way to connect learning with real-world science. Halloween activities like Ghosts in the Graveyard and student government-sponsored events have also added a lot of fun and excitement to campus life.

Many students wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend college without your generosity. The impact of your support goes far beyond the immediate; it opens doors for students who might not otherwise have the means to pursue their dreams. Zoe wants to make sure you know, "The long-term impact of your donations truly can’t be measured."
