Meet Dylan
Dylan Brewster’s journey to higher education is a story of perseverance, family support, and community. As a Business Management student at Boo-U, Dylan is not only pursuing his academic goals but also contributing to his campus through extracurriculars and sports, all while receiving critical support through scholarships.
Overcoming Financial Barriers
For Dylan, receiving scholarships has made college a reality. “The scholarships I received have had a big impact on making college achievable at this time in my life,” Dylan shares. With the help of the Baraboost and a private scholarship, Dylan has been able to focus on his studies and athletic commitments without the added burden of financial stress.
Dreams For The Future
Looking ahead, Dylan is excited about the opportunities that lie before him. “I’m excited to get started at a company with an internship,” he says, reflecting on the bright future ahead. His degree in Business Management, coupled with his passion for marketing and advertising, has set him on a path to success in the business world.
Dylan's Family
Dylan’s path to college was heavily influenced by his mother’s encouragement. “College was something my mom was really passionate about me doing,” he explains. As the first person in his family to attend college, Dylan’s achievement is paving the way for his younger brother, who is now attending school in Minneapolis.
Dylan was able to begin his studies close to home, completing his general education courses affordably while living with his family. This foundation allowed him to transition smoothly to Boo-U and begin pursuing his Bachelor’s in Business Management.
Athletic Involvement
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dylan is deeply involved in the Boo-U basketball team, practicing every day and bonding with his teammates. “We are a really dedicated team, and everyone is connected. We all have study buddies to keep accountable on schoolwork,” Dylan says.
Thanks to online classes through UW-Platteville, Dylan can balance his coursework, basketball practices, and part-time work. “I’m able to do everything at my own pace, which helps me manage everything,” he explains.

A Lasting Impact
Dylan’s college experience has also helped him form meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. “Even though I went to high school in Baraboo, I’ve made a lot of new connections on campus that will last my entire life,” he reflects.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Donors
Dylan’s story wouldn’t be complete without a message to those who make scholarships like his possible, he adds “The impact you have on someone being able to go to school is greater than you realize. It’s so appreciated beyond even what words can say.”
Dylan Brewster is just one of many students whose dreams are being supported through scholarships provided by Friends of the Campus. His story is a testament to the power of community support in creating pathways to success and building a brighter future.
